About
Ting Tsai is a transdisciplinary artist born and raised in Taiwan. She is currently pursuing an individualized major in Media Analytics and Development (B.A.) with a minor in Dance at Wesleyan University. She was awarded the Freeman Asian Scholarship to pursue her studies.
Her work spans across performance, writing, new media, and research to interrogate how the medium holds and molds critical messages in the 21st century. She believes in working with chance through improvisation and algorithmically orchestrated unpredictability. Her directorial and composition works are devised through horizontal approaches of shared authorship.
Since 2013, she has self-published and produced original poetry. Her work has been featured in Rigorous Magazine, Daphne Review, and Austin International Poetry Festival. Alongside her poetry practice, she has performed and directed several original performances, most notably WHAT IN THE WORLD (2025). She has conducted residencies and fellowships with Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and Salzburg Global.
